Paul and Lisa's 90 gallon reef

Hey guys,

Paul and I are new to the reef tank members only section, we are going to do some re-aquascaping this weekend but here are some pics of our 90 gallon RR with 2 250 watt metal halides(10,000K). I will post more pics of our progress late this weekend when wet get done.

We reaquascaped this weekend and here is what we came up with. Also some new additions, purple and green brain coral and a dersa clam.

Keep an eye on that clam up there. Derasa's tend to prefer being on the sandbed and may jump off when placed on rockwork. If you keep finding it on the sandbed, you may want to just leave it there. The best thing to do is bury a flat rock or seashell in your sanbed and then place the clam over it. The clam will then dig down through the sand and attach to the rock or shell. This will keep them from attaching to the glass and allows you to move them more easily if you need to. Tank looks good with the reaquascape.

Hey Jason, Ya I keep having problems with the dersa, it does keep jumping off the rock. I have it a rock on the very bottom of the tank with the dersa on it so it is no where near the top. The crocea is near the top because I head they like strong lighting and he is already attached to a huge rock, not the one we wanted to put him on. Beginners first mistakes with clams, since we really never had any.

Woo lookin good so far. On another note, the light brown frogspawn looks as it may have been bleaching a little from too much light. Was it like that when you bought it or did it turn that way?

Hey Tsouth, that is a hammer coral not a frogspawn. It was that color when we bought it. It is doing great, it is actually spiliting in another head. But thanks for the concern.
