Lemons 90

Okay, well hopefully it will be okay to post my build hear even if it is a freshy tank. I just need to take a break from salt for awhile and this is the best way I see. On top of that some members have asked me to put some pics up, so I am happily doing so.

My nightmare mess in the garage and computer room

Had to paint the inside of the stand now that its empty. 8 coats of high gloss later.....

To the tank; this is the best pic I could get of the paint I have on the background untill I get some lights running on the thing. So will have to hurry up and get water in it.

Took a pic of my old skimmer (it is a sexy beast....hum, maybe that could be my nano!)

Those pesky holes from earlier

The fix for those holes (I know everybody recommended bulkheads, but white caps just didn't do it for me.

I really like the fact I got that piece glued with out any bubbles in the silicone, it was just like laying tile.

Just letting it cure for a couple days with about 15lbs of weight.

Just in case anybody was wondering I found it very painfull to look for stuff to run this tank freshwater without stopping to check out the salty side. I see that nano sooner than later.

When the tank came down I noticed some salt creep on those AGA bulkheads and didn't want to take any chances. If this get broken down from fresh I'm going to a koi pond.

I just need balls now!

Hehehe, got my wetdry done last night. The big piece of glass got some nice silicone lines, but the smaller piece was all beer induced so thats why it looks like it was driving under the influence. LOL Just waiting for balls to come in and I just found my $1.50 media tray. Need to put some holes in there now.

The baffles are 1/4" from Gordons glass and mirror on park ave and the 1/2" pieces are from All Purpose glass and mirror on W. Beaver st. I got some prices for starglass from all purpose when I went there and it wasn't to bad, its just the grind and polish is what makes the stuff so expensive. If I remember right the cost of starfire is $2 a square foot but the grind and polish is 15 or 20cents an inch. Dont quote me though

Super nice foam, just not skimmate

Um, yeah, Perhaps for those that are setting up tanks I should stress that you should keep it clean and not use anything wierd in the cleaning process or this is what can happen!

Guess I'm going to have to do a few water changes on this thing to get rid of the foam.

Well got the thing up and running. I just find it amazing how far a dollor goes with fresh compared to salt. Compared to salt I think I would have a pic of about 5 lbs of rock instead of everything in the tank. Oh well I'm still thinking of setting up that nano 20 hear in a little bit if all goes okay. Anyway I hope everyone enjoys the freshy pic.

LOL yeah is a lone angel in there aswell as two GBR's (german blue rams), and one cory cat. I had six danios but they love to surf down the overflow into the wet/dry and after about the 3rd rescue attempt I'm done fishing them out for now. Probably going to get another wild strain angel so the one in there has a buddy, maybe a few more GBR's, some more cory's, loaches, am I'm even thinking about a 20 to 25 fish school of cardinals. Aqua Zoo has some discus right now but I cant stand that place, however they are the only ones with decent fresh water fish. They are the lesser of the evils compared to the (P) stores. Basically a community tank.
