Hobbzz's tank build

Well as some of you may know I had quite the move back to Jax. The day I moved back my 20L broke and I ended up keeping 35+ coral pieces in a rubbermaid while looking for a replacement. I ended up going with a 45g Tech in cherry. It has about 60lbs of Fiji LR, and 35-40lbs of sand. Lighting is a 4x24w T5HO retro kit, with Icecap reflectors. I will be adding another 2x24w kit when I finish the new canopy. For flow I've got a mag5 for my return going through a scwd, and two Koralia #2's. I didn't have time to silicone baffles into the new sump, so my "fuge" is just a section separated with eggcrate, it has a few pieces of LR and some chaeto. My old skimmer wouldn't fit in the sump so I needed something quick and in-stock, so I went with a Pro Clear 150. It pulled a little the first day but hasn't done much since. Anyone ever use this skimmer before? I've also got a CL-280 chiller with a mag7 but haven't had to use that yet. Now on to the pics (yes I was too lazy to pull out the magfloats for the pics ). I had a few pieces brown out, but all in all most were fine.

A nice piece from Eddie, thanks again!

Last two.

These duncans started as a frag of 5 heads about 6 months ago and I now have 13.

Thanks for looking and thank you to everyone who helped with the new tank and holding some coral!

Thanks Stacie. That's actually my second male, as the first one went carpet surfing out of the last tank. These two paired up almost immediately though.

Thanks Louise! The piece you were holding for me is doing great and seems to love it's new spot as it puts out 3-4" sweepers every night.

Glad to hear it survived it's solo vacation and likes it's new home.

Thanks Teach. The height of the tank combined with a depth of only 18 inches makes it kind of hard to get some height out of the aquascaping while keeping horizontal areas for placing things, but I'm fairly pleased. Although out of room on top. I think down the road I might get another 10-15lbs of rock and redo the scaping and try to get some more height AND some more places to put things up high.

Just the standard anemone crab. Also called porcelain crabs. I got it hoping that it would make the clowns "jealous" and get them interested in the nem, but it didn't work. I knew it was a long shot but I like the crabs anyway so no loss. Then the nem split and the clowns still ignore both. I know they don't host bta's in the wild but I wanted something that stays small, and this particular strain was going around my home town and never got any bigger than 6" in anyones tank. They just split like crazy. It's cool to watch him put out his feeder "claws" when I feed the tank.

It took my black clown over 2 years to finally host in a bta.

Does your bta move around? I am thinking about getting one, but have heard stories about them moving around until they find their happy spot.

The original one didn't move until a few days before it split. After being put into this tank neither has moved. Although I think the smaller one will eventually because it's in a pretty high flow area. If you decide you want one, give me a call because if/when the smaller one moves I'll probably be getting rid of it.
