A little about me. I'm 21. Been married for a year and made a deal with my wife...I wouldn't get a motorcycle which I've wanted since I've been 3...if she lets me spend that money and more on a salt water fish tank. My parents had a 33 gallon fresh water growing up, when I moved out on my own I set up a 15 gallon fresh...but laziness killed all my fish. Now I plan on using that tank as a "Q" tank, have bought my 75 gallon All-Glass tank and have nearly finished the frame of my stand. I want to have a nice reef tank set up with about 80 pounds of live rock, a anoneme (can't pronouce it let alone spell it) some soft corals, a pair of clowns, 2 hippo tangs (thinking of 1 hippo and 1 yellow put don't know if 75 gallons is big enough for the 2) a lawn mower goby, nice looking starfish, a royal gramma and a school of 7 Blue-Green Chromis. Also about 6 or 7 crabs and a few shrimps (haven't decided which ones). Still debated on the lighting, I've decided to take it much slower then I first planed, so that I can spend more money on it, build it bit by bit so I don't regret or have to redo anything. September 1st is my due date for my first fishes. By then I want to have the tank established and cycled, the Q Tank running well with plenty of salt water ready for water changes. As I look over at my tank and see it sitting on the stand, I'm excited already about the good things to happen. Pictures of the stand/empty should be added by the end of the week.

Bored

So I have been debating very much over the lighting and canopy to use. Where my tank is sitting I have furnace ducting over it, which means with my 36" stand and my 24" deep tank, I have about 16" until I hit the ceiling, wanting a little space that means I'm limited to a 12" canopy...but thats OK. I finalized on my lighting...I think. Im going with 2, 175 watt mh from a ebay store. My batteries from the digital camera are charging so I will have some pics and the link to the lighting I'm looking at either tomorrow or Saturday.

I got go bored tonight with nothing to do, I dumped about a gallon of water in my tank, just to make sure the bottom seals are good...or so I keep telling myself. Seeing how little water that is really makes me think of how big my tank is...I've never had a tank even half this size, even counting my parents...although it is "small" compared to some of yours...I'll get my 250 gallon one day...but this 75.....a dream come true.
