Todays first assignment is for me to make a venturi setup for my mag18 to use to test skimmers. And, an adjustment outlet for it to be able to control the water flow. The pump I was using before is back on my coralife 220 skimmer so I have no pump already set up.

I am home now. Has been a long day. Worked on a skimmer for most of the day. It was hot and frustrating. But, now I think the only thing I have left to do to it is make it permanent by gluing it together then running it for a week or so to break it in.

The skimmer is up and running. I still have to update some pics and post them. It is running in my 12G tank. I think the water level drops about 2" in the tank when the skimmer is running. Nothing in the tank but it is still making bubbles. Going to try to move it today to the sump under the 120, if it will fit in the stand. It simply keeps growing in height.

My new RO/DI unit came today. Doing anything with it will have to wait until after I get out of the doctors office. Have an epidural being done today to try to stop the pain in my back.

I went to the doctor, now I hurt worse than before I went  I am hoping it is just a short term effect of the shot. I will know tomorrow. Now, its time to start unpacking the RO/DI, taking pictures, and getting it set up. |

I called the doctor today, asked how long before I should start feeling better. A week. A FREAKING WEEK! I feel worse today than yesterday and worse yesterday than the day before. At this pace, I will be almost dead by a week. Sheesh.
I still haven't done anything with the RO/DI unit, although I need to. It came with a 3 gallon RO water holding tank. Think I am going to use a 15 gallon container instead. Then use a 33G trashcan and a second 15G container for RO/DI water. The Tim Taylor in me just won't let me use the 3G container.

Another day in Hikk-A-Dice. Can't sleep because of my back. Hopefully the ibuprofen gets me where I can put the RO/DI unit together today.

It seems that as long as you agree with the status quo, or applaud substandard performance, then you are allowed to say it. It is when you want to complain, or let your true opinion be known, that you are kept quiet. Why is that? It seems that people don't want honesty, they just want there ego's stoked. I am not an ego stoker.

Its been an interesting day. I have done a lot more reading on skimmers. I swear I am going to figure them out some day. Hopefully with the people on TRT and the OS (other site), I will get them figured out.
I think there is a lot of good knowledge on TRT about skimmers and hardware in general. If it could be collected in one place, it would be an incredible endeavor.
I think if I manage to finish my skimmer thread, I am going to start a Ca Reactor thread. They intrigue me almost as much as skimmers.

Its 3:30am and I can't sleep again so here I am. Nothing tank related today other than a lot of reading on pumps. Trying to find a pump to do what I need done. I will find it, just a matter of time and hunting for it. Tomorrow its time to try to design and build a bubble plate for a 5 gallon bucket skimmer idea.
