Well, its time to make the walk to my vehicle and the trip to the execution chamber, errr, the hospital. Hopefully all goes well. I did find out last night I can have my laptop in the room, just not sure if I will get a wireless connection or not. If I don't, I think I am going to learn more about the phone card internet thingies than I ever wanted to know.
Hopefully I can get back on here tonight and post.

Internet on a TV and no wireless. I did discover the library with two Pc'es two days after being there.

I have been averaging 90 mins or so of sleep then I wake up. Have to get up and move around. Will be glad when I go home Saturday and sleep in my own bed.

Just got home. Seems Atnae changed my insurance prescription coverage without telling me so I went two days without medication. Finally got them today with the help of a very friendly pharmacists. She kept asking my why I wouldn't just sit down and let her take care of it. Showed her my bandage, explained the surgery and that the pain medication allowed me to sit down. I went to sleep in my truck until they got it straightened out. It doesn't kill the pain completely but it does make it bearable.

I just got home a few minutes ago around 1am. I have to go get special bandages tomorrow (some kind of water tight) and then I can actually take a shower instead of a sponge bath.

More updates tomorrow.

Got water proof bandages and finally got to take a shower after a week. I never knew how good a real shower could be after bathing with a rag for a week. Whew!

I got to see my dog today. I miss her. I was going out to my brothers to spend the day but didn't go. He brought her to me for visitation and took her back home with him. Not sure who missed who the most, me or her. I have to get her an appointment to get a haircut/trim/bath and then she is coming home with me.

Today was an interestingly slow day today. I rested, slept, and piddled. Medicine seems to be helping a lot more each day as I get it into my system. Still limited to picking up 5 pounds or less. Some strange things going on with my insurance that I have to check on tomorrow. Almost time for my TV show to come on, will post more later tonight.

Nap, sure as the sun comes up I wake back up without being able to sleep so I am going through my Control Panel and seeing whats in there I can do. I want to try to track down some parts tomorrow (acrylic) since I met a guy at dinner tonight that works for a glass company locally that carries acrylic. Then I want to find some PVC pipe the right sizes to try to start the prototype for a 12" diameter modular skimmer.

Not a bad day so far today. Got up this morning and went hunting water proof bandages and couldn't find any large enough for what I need so I will have to continue to use 3-4 smaller ones and patch them together until I can find the larger ones.

Went to my brothers house and gave my dog a bath and spent a little while with him. He seems to be the one person that I can truly be myself around without him getting offended, pissed off or anything else. We just seem to get along.

Its almost time to take my medicine again and then it will be a 2 hour nap and back awake.

I want to try to start on my 12G nano stuff tomorrow.

Its almost 4am. Bored and can't sleep. Woke up and can't take my medicine again for another 1 hour 45 minutes then I will be able to rest enough to sleep. It seems that I can sleep when I can relax enough. I tried to get the back doctor to put me back on something to help me sleep but they didn't. I may call today and ask about an OTC sleeping medicine so that I can sleep for more than 2-3 hours at a time.

Went and got my dog tonight so she is back home. Maybe take a new Avatar picture of her this weekend. She was at my brothers house. Not sure if I am ready to take care of her but I missed her and she missed me so lets hope I am ready.

I think I figured out where my 20 will go, just have to ok it with the boss lady as to location. She already said I could have it here since its so small (relatively). The two new fish I put in it died so not sure whats going on with it. Probably just keep the two false percs in it and let that be it and keep the rest of my fish in the 75.

More later.

Its now 1:35 and can't sleep. Took my medicine at 11:30 and laid down but couldn't go to sleep. Its about normal where it takes a little while to start working but not sure whats going on this time. Excited to have my dog home and that may be whats causing it. Or, simply have skimmers on my mind and trying to build a prototype to see if my design works right or not and have a million things running through my mind right now.

More later.

Today was a very bad day for me. A Huge step backwards. I woke up and took my dog out twice. Other than that, was pretty much bed ridden. Even the medication didn't help

I have to call the doctor tomorrow and find out when he wants to see me. Hopefully I can plan it around the 21st of Feb and my local clubs monthly meeting. I missed last month (jan) and don't want to miss this months.

A few days ago I went to eat supper with my mother and step father and there was a guy in the restaurant that worked for a glass company. I struck up a conversation and wanted to know about acrylic that I hadn't been able to find anybody around here that carried it. He says they carry it so I am going to try to call this morning to see if they carry it or not and how much it is. Then I get to check on building a jig to try to roll my own tubes. Anything up to around 12" or so, I will order the tube. But I want some that is 24 and even 36" in diameter. So I am going to try to roll my own. Then I have some other errands to run provided my back allows it.

I have to call my back doctor to find out about a follow up and then I have to call my Primary Care to get an appointment to have my lungs checked. When they did pre-op X-Rays they found a spot on my lungs. Said it looked like a collapse after surgery so he wasn't overly concerned (surgeon) but since I have smoked for almost 25 years he wanted me to have it checked out by someone that knew more about lungs than he does (hes a back specialist).

Long day if my back will cooperate.

Got a lot done today but didn't quite finish everything I needed to get done. My body made me stop and go to bed around 1 pm. I have a followup with my surgeon in 2 weeks and then an appointment with my General Practitioner the next day about my back and my lungs.

They are scheduled the Monday and Tuesday after my club meeting Saturday so will probably spend the weekend in Jax if I can make the arrangements.

I was in Home Depot today and they had some JG fittings on clearance. Normally 6.99 at 1.20 so I bought them all. I dont think I will be hunting that particular fitting anytime soon. Its threaded on one side, has a quick disconnect on the other with a ball valve in the middle. Used for RO/DI type applications. I want them for Ca Reactor type setups.

Another typical day in Hikk-a-dice. Went to Home Depot and they had some fittings (JG style) on clearance for 1.20 each, normally 6 bucks. I bought them all even though I have no idea what to do with 12 of these fittings. Threaded shutoffs for RO/DI type setups. I think I will try to use them on Ca Reactors or Nitrate filters. I spent 10 bucks on them so it isn't like I am out a lot if I don't ever use them all. If I use 3 I came out ahead in the end on them.

What got it all started was I went to HD to buy some MDF and saw blades to start building a jig to make a skimmer body. When I got to my brothers house he wasn't at home. I am still not sure where he is. Can't get him on the phone. Maybe tomorrow.

I got my MDF, got some 2x6'es (after some serious thought about what to use) and started working on a jig to make my own cylinder tubes for building skimmers, Ca reactors, etc. I decided on the 2x6'es and going to rip them into strips 3/4 x 1 1/2" to make a band around an inner circle to build a jig to wrap acrylic around to make my own cylinders. Hopefully I can get my brother to cut the 2x6'es up for me tomorrow after he gets off work and then start assembling the jig.

Backs been about "normal" today. Its been an off/on day where it comes and goes. Been a fairly decent day overall with it though. Hopefully it will keep getting better if I can slow myself down. The hardest part of it all is telling myself "Randy, even though you want to do that, can probably do that, you don't need to do that" and let someone else do for me. Tough tough thing to do.
