Hmmmm, where to start?
Well my first tank was a 55 I got from a neighbor. It had Cc and an undergravel filter along with a Fluval. When we drained the tank, the water under the UG filter was BLACK.
I had no idea what i really wanted to do but as I read on TRT the parts list and dreams grew and grew. I ended up with a 55 that 440 watts of VHO, two CLS's and a 20l sump. The total flow in the tank was about 2200gph and it was BB. It wasnt long till I bought an acrylic 150 and started all over. I made my own acrylic sump, drilled the tank and bought more cool stuff to look at and hook up! I got that tank running and then moved! As of now I am building a wet room and the tank will be picture framed into the living room wall.
The skimmer is an MRC and has been added on to, I have a calcium reactor also from MRC and all kinds of goodies. Total volume on this system will be about 220 to 240g. The room will have automated ventilation and the WC set up will be built into the system and require almost no work and absolutely no hauling water! There will be several parts to the system but overall it is a very simple design that will work great as Ive learned alot around here! I am changing the CLS and the overall flow will increase to about7500 gph in the main tank. It will also be a BB set up and all SPS.
Oh and in case you were wondering, I have yet to completely finish a system, Ive had them up and running but keep adding and then moved. Hope to finish this one! (yeah right, is a system ever finished?)
I think the build is my favorite part, just ask Doug, hes seen my garage!

Robert
