Okay shots of the sump. Basically I turned the skimmer around to blow away from the return. My overflow drains to the old refugium so that *dirty* water is kept away from the skimmer and the return. The return is behind the skimmer. A baffle seperates the skimmer and return compartment but has about a 3 inch gap so the clean water coming out of the skimmer can get to the return but the skimmer body blocks the bubbles from getting into the return area. Turning the skimmer allowed me to get rid of all the acrylic sheets I was trying to use to block the opening of the return while still allowing water to flow into it. Sump looked messy and cramped and still had micro bubbles. It is now clean looking as well as very efficient at keeping the detrius and microbubbles out of the return!

Okay it's been a while but gonna try to update this in short form. First off I lost my black volitan and snowflake. The black volitan stop eating and basically wasted away. I treated him with metradonidozole thinking it was an internal parasite, but nothing restored his appetite. The snowflake was a huge shock. He literally ate well one morning and that evening I found him dead in the rock. No clue what happened to a otherwise healthy dude. I have added lots of corals and about 40 lbs of additional rock. Also some new fish.
New corals:
2 zoa rocks
super green favia
green favia w/red centers
green ric yuma
neon green elegance w/ purple tips
frogspawn
bubble coral
carpet anemone

also added a very nice crocea clam

Fish additions
Clown tang
diamond goby
mandarin dragonette

I also added some inverts
unknown star in the family of the chocolate chip star
15 red legged hermits
10 blue leg hermits
and got some hitchhiker snails. No clue what they are.

The tank has good coraline growth, man I hate scrapping glass!

No nuisance algae at all.

Oh I forgot that I finally removed the blue velvet damsel. Beautiful fish but he started eating my green polyps.
I also moved my maroon pair to this tank. They ignore the carpet and spend their time hosting my bubble coral and xenia.
Too many pics to do them all but here are some of my favorites
