And so it begins, 8/13/2006
After a few years and a couple of freshwater tanks, and many promises to my wife, we finally ventured into the saltwater aquarium world.
On August 13th, 2006 We purchased a used 55 gal complete setup.
Our package included (was established and running)
55 Gal Aquarium
Stand, and canopy with 40w vho lights
Wet/dry filter
Overflow box
Refugium
Protien Skimmer
3 stage ro unit
Tank included
Live rock, live sand, 3
green chromis, snails, crabs, 2 tree sponges, small patch of coral
Basically we purchased for $200 a small crash course into the reef world and bypassed a longer drawn out and more expensive start up phase.
We intend on pursuing a 125 gal reef tank, after we get more experienced with the marine setup.
To date, we have only added one anenome since the purchase, we have resisted the urge to go out and buy all the cool looking fish, corals, clams, shrimps etc.... that we would like to have.
