Where can I buy and get acrylic cut?

My current sump might not be able to fit into my new stand, if it doesn't I'll need to build a new sump out of acrylic. I don't have a table saw or router table though. Are there any plastic/acrylic retailers in town that would cut the acrylic for me? Preferably ones that wouldn't make me buy a 4' x 8' sheet for $300.

Farco plastics is the only local company I know of that might do it.

One thing to keep in mind with Farco, and probably any company that you get the acrylic from.

Farco is considered an "Industrial Acrylic" company. This means that, to them, any sheet of acrylic can be up to 1/4" out of square and still be "good". That statement, BTW, was told to me by a Farco employee when I had an issue with a piece being out of square. Also, the folks at Farco are great and helped me out when trying to get my large panels (6' x 2' and another at 6' x 4') squared up.

This can greatly affect your cuts (trust me, I know!) if you don't add some extra padding to your sizes. I ended up having to sacrifice a bit of size to get everything square.

Thanks for the heads up Mike. I found that I might have access to a table saw, so if that pans out, I'll probably just go to Home depot and get acrylite, then get the weld-on from Farco.

Mike, Farco helped you true up your pieces? I didn't think they'd touch any acrylic they sold. When I bought my sheet there they wouldn't cut it. But I guess that's a big different that "truing up" a piece. I seem to remember trying to do the same thing with my sump pieces at your house

They weren't able to get them square, although they did get the piece closer to square. I had to finish it when I got it home.

They've also always cut any acrylic I've bought from them. When I buy the acrylic, I give them a cut sheet detailing all the sizes I need (oversize of course for cleaning up and squaring).

And you are remembering correctly, we had the same issue with the pieces you brought over.

Call Farco, ask for RT, tell him Rob sent you, and he'll cut a 4'x8' sheet into 12"x12" squared-up squares for you if you need, usually same day.
