water storage question

I use the same brute cans to store my ro/di water as I do for mixing saltwater. Once I"m done mixing I rinse with freshwater then go back to storing fresh water in it for TO water.
Could the fact that the can has had salt in it skew my TDS readings by a lot? Coming out of the ro/di I'm reading 0 as soon as it hits the can it starts reading like 900.
So I'm wondering if I"m screwing up my water or if it is still ok to use because even if the tds is skewed it's just salt skewing it and the water is still OK to use.

I need some input thanks

Good question Kim. I'm following along with your train of thought. I would think it's most likely the "trace elements" from the salt mix that are somehow remaining in the container and making the TDS reading high (but what do I know) LOL

Hopefully someone in-the-know will answer your question properly.

If the can has had salt water in, then putting RO in it will will give you a TDS reading above zero. This should not be a concern to you. The TDS is just picking up minerals for the salt.

TY thats what I fugred but my tds hit like 900+ and it shocked me that the salt residue alone could make it read so high just I thought I'd get some input
