vacation casualty...

Well..my neighbor was watching my tanks for me...she was trying to be nice and clean my glass w/ the magnet..and accidentally knocked my green hammer coral over..I figured it was on the side..no biggie..I told her I'd get it when I got home...

But she didn't realize it fell on the xenia...which it totally killed (nasty pink goo now)..and now the middle of the hammer has receded back..where I guess the xenia stung it... hopefully it will make a recovery..it is my favorite coral...I've uprighted it..half of it looks ok..but the other half...looks pretty bad...I will wait a few days and see how it looks... anything special I should do for it?

Are you running carbon? That would help.

It actually started looking pretty good a few hours after I uprighted it... so I think it's going to be ok

Spent most of the day with a sick dog...our Lab has been sick since Friday... she can't keep anything down...I'm wondering if the pond in NC she was swimming in had some sort of parasite...all the other dogs are fine..but she swims/drinks more in the ponds...have to call the vet in the morning to get her in...

Coral looks much better today...

Our lab is on another round of antibiotics...she has been expensive this month...she had a UTI 4 weeks ago...that was $150 in tests and antibiotics..plus her shots and all that... now this... total of $600 on her this month..but she is worth it

They said she must have picked up a bacteria in the water up there ... while drinking it...so we are supposed to keep her from eating for 12hrs...and make her eat these really bad tasting antibiotics...then just give her sensitive stomach food for 3 days.... hopefully will make her all better...
