Take over payments for my Mccullochi Pseudochromis

I ordered 2 fish this morning after doing some research on one and having been fully informed on the other by a friend from this site.

After I ordered it I continued to read and found out that it will likely harass very timid tank mates and I have a small pajama cardinal that will likely be his target.

The fish was purchased from Dr Fosters and Smith Live Aquaria. It was $149 plus shipping. It is a beautiful example of this fish and I really wanted to keep it but I dont want to take a chance with my little cardinal because it will be tough with all the rock I have to get the new guy out.

I was hoping someone might want to get him. Just pay me what I paid for him. I will eat the shipping cost. Below is the description from Marine Center........:

http://www.marinecenter.com/fish/pse...pseudochromis/
This spectacular species is rarely seen in the trade. Be sure to jump on them immediately when available because they're very rare and sell fast! Previously known as Pseudochromis mccullochi, this rare species is occasionally imported from Australia and thrives in captivity. A smaller species, aquarium specimens are usually only 1.5"-2.5". Like most Pseudochromis, it can be aggressive towards small, similarly colored fishes unless kept in a large tank (e.g., 100 gal. or more). Very easy to feed, accepts most any food offered and is virtually indestructible.

PLEASE LET ME KNOW TONIGHT OR FIRST THING IN THE MORNING IF YOU WANT HIM. I CAN JUST MEET YOU TOMORROW WHEN HE IS DELIVERED AND YOU CAN ACCLIMATE HIM THE WAY YOU CHOOSE.

Wow, What a beautiful fish! Had I not just purchased a Chiller and some fish recently I would jump all over that. Would look great in my 120G.

Seriously though......I'm not so sure it would give you as much trouble as you think. It can be aggressive towards small, SIMILARLY COLORED FISHES and your PJ is not colored similar.

I agree with Keri, I dont think it will mess with the PJ. Probably would go after another wrasse or dottyback for sure, but if you dont have any of them then I wouldnt worry about it because the PJ is already established, this fish is the new guy. It is a beautiful fish and would probably be your favorite!! Carrie

It will rip your cardinal fin from fin. You are right to not want it in your tank.

I do have a wrasse. A 2+ inch 4 line hawaiian wrasse. And a 2+inch yellow tang. In addition to the little cardinal of course.

The reason I ordered him was becasue of the description on Marinecenter. I thought, " I have not similarly colored fish so it should be ok".

But then I did some more searches after ordering trying to get more details about their habits and read where most of the time, the similar color isnt a requirement. So I called LiveAquaria back up and tried to cancel. But the divers den stuff ships earlier than their normal stock.

My 24 is not an option. It is empty of livestock and water isnt up to standards.

You do know Pseudochromis love to eat any kind of shrimp in your tank? If you have shrimp you don't want to get one either...

I had a Purple Pseudochromis in the 55g with 2 or 3 PJ Cardinals. It was aggressive toward the chromis, the lawnmower blenny and a scooter blenny, but never bothered the PJ's. I guess it depends on the fish itself.

According to the Scott Michael book the Purple Pseudo is docile when compared to the Oblique. The exact words he uses with regards to the Obligue is "lethal to small fish." I have personally seen these guys in the store when we imported them and we always kept them by themselves.

Yep, mean but pretty. It really makes me want a fish only semi agressive /agressive tank. I have been thinking about a 300+ gal for behind easy chair.

Oh well. I will continue to see if I can sell him.

Thanks all for the input.

If anyone knows someone that may want this guy, I am willing to take a loss on him. What about $100. I eat $50 of the purchase price plus the shipping.

Or trade for tank hardware and cash either way.
