Suggestions for Prop Tank?

I'm planning to build a prop tank for SPS frags. Do you have any suggestion / recommendations on the tank design?

This will be connected to my main system.

48" long x 20" depth x 12" high.
Is 12" tall sufficient?

Frags will be mounted to plugs and supported on eggcrate.
The eggcrate layout will be flat (no "stairs" etc.) and placed off of the bottom.

I am concerned about detritus settling in pockets under the eggcrate and want to be able to get to it out siphon is out without knocking over frags.

I was thinking of adding "stands" above half of the eggcrate so I can perhaps move one half temporarily on top of the other while cleaning and do the same for the other side? comment???

Two 1.5" drains - should I build these into the side or standpipes in one of the corners?
I am opt'ing to place the drains on the side and add pvc on the inside that can be angles to adjust water height.

Circulation
Thinking of placing a power head on each side of the tank underneath the eggcrate. This would help keep stuff from settling, but I still think there will be pockets of buildup created. A sweeping power head may do the trick??
My sump is a 55 gal glass tank, not drilled with bulkheads for an external pump. I would need to run another line off of this pump or buy another one to feed the prop tank.

Lighting
My main tank runs 400watt 10K MHs. I am considering running a lower wattage MH on the prop tank. Not sure which one would be best.
The fixture would most likely be suspended from the ceiling and could be raised or lowered.

Unfortunately I missed that one. Does his book show design recommendations / benefits of building prop tanks certain ways?

Change of plans with prop tank....

I think I will get rid of a 6' tall by 4' wide cabinet that is located next to the tank in the room on the back side (tank is in-wall). The cabinet is used for storing my SW drygoods and some equipment too.

I was looking at the area this morning and think I could get away with doing the following:

Build a 4 1/2' wide frame that will contain two to three 3' long tanks stacked over each other with enough room to allow for lighting over each tank. The remaining 1 1/2' width on one side will be made into a tall cabinet to keep equipment and other SW drygoods. The cabinet would be accessed from the side and not the front in order to get the best usage of space out of it.

These are just rough measurements for now and does not account for placement of a diy skimmer that I've been contemplating for a while. The skimmer body would be 12" di and 36"+ tall and would have two or three recirc pumps around the body. It's going to be a struggle trying to figure out how to get all of this to fit in the space I have to work with!
