I started off with just 1 ricorida and now have about 30. A couple of times it split was similar to this, but most the time the ric just started moving from one spot to a new one and left behind what looked like a small spot of mucus. This eventually grew into a new ricordia.

So I would definately say it's splitting or just moving itself to a new spot.

Mine split like that but it takes a while so don't expect to all the sudden see two rics.

I agree that it looks like it is trying to split. Just keep watching for the mouth to tear. Then you will know for sure it is.
