I agree the DI filters go last. Are you sure that the TDS meter is correct.

I trust their readings so either the connections are wrong or filters are really bad. I would think the first. Maybe during the next meeting someone could check it out.

You may have a bad or blown membrane. If you have high flow in your product discharge, the membrane is passing bad water. This of course would not be the case if your product water is flowing at a normal slow flow.

I'm not running a booster pump so the flow isn't high...if it's the membrane what type of warranty do they come with? It's brand new.

your flow can still be hi
what is the PSI of the water going to your house.
If you dont know go to Lowes to the water sprinkler section and get a meter. screw it on your water hose or faucet and see. If you pressure is to hi then that could be the reason for the hi tds reading. you can always take it back the next day but i kept mine it was only about 9 bucks

Did you change the order number like was mentioned before?

As far as membrane warranty it depends on the manufactor and any paperwork that came with the membrane.

What I would do
1 check my houses PSI
2 Make sure my RO unit is hooked up correctly as described in previous post
3 test your TDS of your tap water and then test the TDS after each stage of your RO D/I unit. Please Post these results. Even if you tds is off you can tell at witch stage your TDS increases.
4. If this is a used Unit and you dont have the Instruction Download it and read them.
By the way what is your exact brand name and prduct number of your Unit?
5 Make sure you have the recomended filters and membrane Some filters are 5 micron and some are 1 micron. Make sure your membrane isnt above the recomended flow rate.

Hey did your reading just change or has there been a trend? Something just does not sound right here.

Really, just bring it the shop, we'll check it, hook up TDS meters and re-pipe or fix it for you, no charge for troubleshooting or labor.

Call my cell 904-860-2148, before you head in, and make sure I'll be there when you get there.

OK I finally have had my water reading 0 on tds for a few weeks now and am still having major diatome problems. How much water do you think I would need to change to get this under control?

I don't think a water change alone is going to fix that. I went back through your tank thread and unless somethings changed since your last post, I would suggest increased flow and a bigger skimmer. I didn't notice any in-tank ciculation and can only assume that your are using only your return pumps for flow. A few Koralias, Maxi mods or maybe even a Vortech or two would be necessary for such a large tank.

You didn't say in your last tank thread post if you had the Recirculating Octopus or just the standard one. Either way the Octopus 200 is not really big enough for the tank you have. I have seen varying ratings on that skimmer but most of them are around 190 to 300 gallons. I think that is overly optomistic and would say that 125 to 150 would be the max. I usually take the skimmer rating and cut it in half when trying to decide on skimmer size.

my return pump is actually too big it is an aqua sea 4500 feeding the 2 returns plus a spray bar. I have a dolphin 3600 in route as we speak. I also have 4 koralia 4's. If I open the ball valve on the pump any farther the flow will be over my overflow walls.
My skimmer is the regular dolphin and I can't imagine anything skimming more - I"m emptying about 2 full cups per week! I can't change that right now anyway (the skimmer I took off was an impact skimmer rated for 600g and I still had this problem)
I am considering moving my powerheads down closer to the bottom and angling them up as to me that makes more sense when keeping particles suspended in the water so they can be skimmed out.
Thanks for the input!
