Purple UP

Does anyone have any suggestions for using purple up? or even heard of it? i recently started a new tank and the chick at the fish store said this Purple up (coralline algae accelerator) is a good thing to use to increase coralline alge... on the container it says Not a fertilizer: Purple up encourages the growth of desirable pink and purple coralline algaes not nuisance algaes. I was wondering if anyone had used this before or the long term effects of this stuff...

I've never used it. If you have any coralline in your tank, it will grow pretty fast on it's own.

Do a search for it on here. It's just an expensive tonic. If you keep you Ca/Alk params right and do the rest of you reg maint (WC and such) you will grow coralline just as fast with out it.

I did use it once. In fact I still have about 1/4 of the bottle left, can't get myself to just toss it! It made no real difference. Just maintain you tank and the coralline will come.

Purple up is ground CaCO3, Mg, and Sr. It's okay if you're lazy.

Just be patient. The coraline will be there before you know it and you will be wishing you had less. Trust me.
