OT Does anyone keep Bonsai trees?
I was wondering if any of the members keep Bonsai trees. I recently became very interested in art of Bonsai when my juniper began to brown out and die. I have had it for the past 4 years and one day it began to die. Anyways, through alot of reading and researching I found out why and corrected it. Now I am hooked. I recently have picked up two bald cypress trees, and one ficus.

I did keep a few in the past but lost them. I had a beautiful Ficus that looked just like a full grown tree but was only about 16" tall. I had it for about 3 years and them it die while I was busy with other things. I know that it needed to be pulled up and have it's roots trimed then replanted. I have 4 or 5 books on keeping Bonsai. It is a fun hobby. Troy are you still in town?

I've always wanted to, but haven't found any good specimens. I've tried to stay away from the Walmart trimmed up junipers.

I almost lost mine, because it was a walmart or home depot hack job. I have read that they are not to bad if you rip them up and change the soil that they come in. There is so much to learn, it seems very similar to reef tanks in the fact that everyone has thier own advise that is the correct advise. Rob there is a place in daytona that has alot of nice trees. I will find the link and post it up.
Here are some nice ones.

If you can manage corals, you can do bonsai. Those bonsai pictures are amazing!

Yea, could be a red maple in fall colors or just a green one in fall colors. The red maples always have red leaves, but not that bright.
