O/T Lowes calls christmas trees "family trees" this year

When will it end? Why can't it still be "Merry Christmas and why can't we still have "christmas Trees? I am all for change, but not this kind.

Are you kidding me?

I find that worth picketing or protesting or something.

Absolutely insane.

I'm not getting my CHRISTMAS tree from Lowe's and I'm going to encourage everyone I know to do the same.

Bleh.

Im with you. It's Christmas and always will be. Its Merry Christmas. I checked google, And There was something about Lowes making apoligies and stating it was a mistake or bad markting. I will see if I can find the post. Go figure.

My thought is .... how many of our ancestors would roll over in their graves from all these "changes" these days.

On a side note: I still love the "upside down" tree.

Exactly. Its called voices speaking up! No way a large marketing department would miss such mistakes. At any rate, I am glad they are addressing it.

This is why this year I am just setting up a large metal pole in my living room and instead of presents we will have feats of strength. It will be a "Festivus for the rest of us!"

Well I can't speak for everyone else, but even my store had to change our signs last year from Merry Christmas to Celebrate the Season. Was too many incidents between customers that didn't celebrate Christmas and those that did. There was actually alot of folks offended by our Merry Christmas signs, and then last year when we switched, just as many offended that we didn't have our Merry Christmas signs up.

Goes to show you that you can't make everyone happy and even when you try to adapt it causes those that were happy to get pissed off.

Alot of companies are going with policies such as these because it seems the country is getting to "sue" happy. Heck it wasn't even two weeks ago I was listening to 88.1 The Promise christian station in my store and it offended a customer because "Amazing Grace" was playing........

geeze...

PC sissies, even Target is saying Merry Christmas this year.

Over 95% of Americans celebrate Christmas. I think that is a high enough majority that we should be afraid of not being polite.
