Just don't waste your time asking them any questions about your reef tank. I would recommend calling Rob (at any time of the day, his personal cell number is right on his business card) and find out all the information you need. Then take your catalog and go buy all the things he suggests at Petsmart or Dr. Fosters. There is no sense in supporting your LFS any more.

I wasn't trying to start something there guys just a simple question - geez. As for HA I have some in my overflow and heard raising ALK would help to - there maybe that'll get us back on track a bit.

I meant with the price match not help on your reef LOL. I dont think half of them even know they have anything for saltwater in the store.

Def call your LFS for help and Support them thats why i say get basic stuff for cheap so you can buy all the cool stuff at Bio-Reef, Ocean Reef or Robs.

But back to the hair algae any pics of the tank and how its looking now?

As in with alot of things now-a-days you can always find it cheaper on the internet, but the problem is that you wont get any support. That may not sound like a problem but if we dont support our lfs then they'll go away and then what? Then all you'll have is the petsmarts, and such. You may pay a few dollars extra to get it local, but imo in the long run its worth it to keep good local stores around. As far as the ha, I've had some algae issues in my tank since I got it running and adding flow really helped alot.

I plan on supporting my LFS, and I can't tell you the last time I was in petsmart. BTW, fosters and smith is more expensive than petsmart on most substrates, so I would rather they didn't match that price. Thanks for your help Rob, and I'm sure I'll make it out to OP one of these days. Ocean Reef is a 5 minute bike ride from my house though so it'll be when I'm visiting my girlfriend in Keystone.

Clancy I have to agree with you, people count on getting the right info from the LFS like Bio and Robs which if you ask me thats the only places to trust in town and then turn around and get it somewhere else, and when they do have a problem there stuck waiting for weeks for the issue to be resolved and it takes the LFS's time to talk to you and help you, which is money out of there pocket for what ? They do it because they care about the customer !! That few extra bucks you save would have paid for the good info you received from the start ! Does that make sense to anyone? OH by the way I'm back !!!! LOL

Miss you guys
Robert
