Hello Lady and Gents I am very new to the saltwater hobby I am crossing over from Freshwater. I just got a 110 gallon tank. I have a sump, and overflow. What should I do to get started and what else do I need in my tank???

Welcome DGlove904!

What livestock do you plan to keep in your tank?

you will need a return pump for your sump, Powerheads for flow (I recommend tunze or koralia), Lights (intensity depends on what kinda stock ur keepin), skimmer (the biggest and best you can afford(octopus makes a great skimmer), Live Rock, Sand,

I would't do maxijets cuz they shoot such a tight stream of water. Koralia=more flow with less velocity. for your skimmer I would absolutely do an octopus over coralife anyday

In order to save yourself a lot of money by not having to upgrade your equipment too often, you really need to think about what livestock you want to keep.
The lighting, pumps and skimmer you purchase will vary a lot depending on if you are keeping only fish, soft coral or hard coral.
Increased lighting often has the side affect of increasing water temperature which may bring up the need for a chiller which is not a cheap piece of equipment to buy or operate.
You will also want to look into getting a water filter - RO/DI.
Also, certain fish are not compatible with certain coral, so you'll need to research the fish.

The more you can tell us about what you want to keep, the more we can help you out.

Like the others have said the equipment all depends on what you want to keep. You'll save yourself alot of expense and frustration if you can decide on what you want to have now. To help in the decision you should come to the meetings and check out some the reef tanks here locally and talk to other members. They are a great bunch of people who are knowledgable and willing to help a newbie. Saying that, welcome to the club and hope to see you next month.

I would reccomend lot of reading before jumping into anything. wetwebmedia.com has a lot of good information

Also, buy a few books to read. They will be good reference material for the future and they will help you immensely with getting started.
