"New" in town, have a big problem...

Hello everyone. I'm kinda new here. I recently moved back into town, and while setting up my tank, my friend unfortunatley broke it. I think he bumped the external durso, and the glass flexed and broke (20g long). So I need a new tank. What's the best place in town to pick one up? Bioreef, ocean floor, fish maniac, ocean reef, Robs? Anywhere else have a better selection? I would prefer something reef ready. Does anyone in town make custom glass tanks?

I also have a small oulophylia colony I need to sell quick. I've got all my coral setup in a rubbermaid, and this colony sends out 3-4" sweepers, and I simply don't have the room in the container. It's only a matter of time before it starts to sting everything within reach. If you're interested in the frag/colony pm me for my number. This is the only pic I have right now...it's in the very lower left hand on the bottom of the pic.

Thanks for looking.

Welcome Hobbzz.

Can't tell you where the best deal would be on a 20g tank but you could call the stores ... I think they should all be open by Noon today. Fishmaniac isn't open any more.

Sent a PM too.

Thanks for the welcome guys! I didn't move all my things yet so I don't have my tools to drill a standard tank and build a new overflow box, so I'm going to check out some shops and see if they do custom tanks. If I can find one, I'll probably get them to make a 29 with internal overflow so I can use my existing hood and plumbing. Wish me luck!

Check out Aqua Zoo as well. They have several locations around town. Good luck finding a tank and getting it setup. Welcome back to Jax.

Thanks Jgordie. I'm actually going to check out the one on San Jose as I remember them always having a pretty big selection.

Thanks for all the help guys! Ladyreefneck has graciously offered to hold the frag for me until I get a new tank set up, so it's no longer on the market. I've got a few options for a new tank and a couple more places to check out tomorrow. I'll get some pics up in a few weeks when everything is settled in. But for now, here's a pic from a few weeks ago.

Well the coral has adjusted pretty well. It plumped up nicely within about 2 hours .... then I fed the tank about 7pm and it seems to have enjoyed the feeding. LOL

Hope you're having some success in locating your new tank.

Thanks for the compliments! The last person I needed to talk to at a shop in town today called in sick so I'll talk to her tomorrow. I also need to call Ocean Floor and see if they'll build a 29...but with MUCH thicker glass and an overflow. I've pretty much narrowed it down to 3-4 options. 2 options will allow me to use everything I currently have as far as equipment. But one of those tanks would need to be drilled, and I'm not sure I would trust Lee and Cates with a $350 tank and no gaurantee. With the other two, I would need to use my current stuff until I can sell it, and until I can afford new lights, more rock, bigger skimmer, possibly bigger chiller etc, etc. I should be able to decide tomorrow. Obviously I'd like to go as big as possible, but it's not really in the budget right now.

I know everyone hates PetCo, but......
What about going there or PetSmart. They normally have a decent selection on tanks. Especially if you need one in a hurry.

The tech series are sweet. Clear glass and plenty of drains, I like that it comes setup for Sea Swirls or Wavysea returns.
