Glad to hear your clowns are doing fine. It sounds to me like they maybe hosting the powerhead. If you happen to get a pair of clown that choose to host something, they normally are not picky, but some clowns do not host anything.

I've had clowns host in toadstool leathers and in frogspawn. Both of those corals would do well in your tank once it's established.

What are the chances of a pair of clownfish (true percs) hosting anything else if they are currently hosting a dead coral skeleton? Mine are hosting a dead coral skeleton. If I move it, they go find it. They sleep under it. Makes me wonder if they will ever host anything else

Maybe put something more to their liking near the area where they are hosting now. I got my false percs to host the toadstool that way. It didn't take long.
But on the other hand, the percs in my 90 gallon stay near the sand bed not hosting anything and the tank is full of hammer, frogspawn and torches.

Thank you teach. I am not going to worry about them for now. They seem happy with the rock.

How would you get false percs to host something. Mine won't host anything.

Sorry for the loss of your bta. I put a long tentacle in my tank that I only had running for a month. After the first night, he was floating around like he was dead. The next morning he was attached to a rock. He did that a couple of time, scaring me every time. He is good and health now, only moving when I make changes to the tank. Good luck with your tank. It looks just like my first tank.
