lightning stuck!

Well Sunday p.m. my house had a direct lightning strike!! My arm was IN the tank when it happened
My tank is on it's own breaker & GFI and was the only thing running in the house after the strike
However my chiller thermostat was struck with no hopes of replacing it - so I get to file a claim and get a whole new chiller, 61" HD TV, dvd player, tuner, & home security system. It knocked out my home ac unit too. Comcast booster thingy was fried and the service tech said he had never seen one that charred!!
Right now I"m bypassing the thermostat and turning the chiller on/off as I monitor the tank temp manually!!

This comes after just having filed a claim for a jetski wreck - then yesterday Craigs truck wouldn't start!!!

I think I need some good vibes sent my way!!! But so far so good - I'm having more temp swings but they are staying between 78 - 82 so far so I think thats pretty good!

Good luck with it all! You can have your electrician install a surge protector for the whole house .

Oh my gosh that sucks!!!! I am glad you are ok. I am always scared of electrocuting myself everytime I have my hand in the tank. Sucks you have to replace it all. But it will be like getting new stuff all over again.

What you need is a surge supressor under $250 installed usually...
And sorry about all the bad luck

I've always heard that nothing will protect you during a direct hit.

well I had 3:
jetski's
house
truck

the really great news is I had about 10 neighborhood kids in my pool and only got them out by about 5 minutes or we may have had real problems - it came in really fast!

I sure hope that does me for a while I can't stand much more - emotionally or financially!!!!

anyways I"m gonna drink a wine cooler while sitting in a big bubble bath in a few minutes and see if it helps matters any!!!

thanks for all the thoughts guys!!

I know how you feel , my house got hit a 1 1/2 weeks ago . thankfully (if you wanna call it that) the only thing I lost was my comp. I'm using my son's right now and hes not happy about it either, he's 7 . apparently my surge protector wasn't as good as I thought it was and it fried my mother board . But thank god it didn't fry my halides or anything else in the house .Soooo a few more days and about $200 + - and I'll have it back .

Sending you some very good vibes and very happy that you were not hurt as that could have been much worse.

Lets just say 1st we didn't swing wide enough at the gas station and bent the wheel spindle and the trailer was too wide for the flatbed tow truck but they rigged it up anyways.
Second I'll sum it up by saying grown men should never play chicken on jetskis's!!! We fractured a hull
Luckily nobody was hurt so over all I guess it was OK except for the 600.00 damage -
The REALLY BAD part is - they are my bosses jetskis!!! He knows about it and is OK but I still feel like crap!
