Kent Pro Scraper

If you use one then you know how well these things work. I picked up one yesterday and lets just say I wont be using a mag float anymore. This thing powers through coraline and algae and wont scratch your glass. Its also rust resistant. 20 bucks

Is it made out of plastic or stainless? I have never been a big fan of the magnets and have always just used a razor blade for getting the coraline off of the glass. I can usually get about 2 uses out of a razor before it rusts and I throw it away. They are good for glass tanks but not acrylic. After using the razor I rinse with tap water and dry thoroughly. I guess a quick shot of some cooking spray would increase the life of a razor as well.

the blade is metal, semisharp but I dont think it can cut flesh. I even cleaned the back glass. Its also 2x wider than a razor. Brian has one left and its the same price as petsolutions.

Also if it could scratch glass I would of done it by now. I messed up a 55 one time with a razor

Razors will for sure scratch the glass if you are not careful. I have scratched mine more than once. How long is the handle? I bet it works good for scraping the back glass and getting around the rockwork where using a razor with your hand would be difficult.

They also make a plastic version for acrylic tanks. One bad thing about the stainless model is how easily is bends. If you bend one part of it it stop working as well because it won't sit flush on the glass.

Steve I got the 36" scraper for my 30" deep tank. I love it, you can pop off the blade and do the upper areas and snap it back in for the lower areas. I just have to watch the up stroke, I'm going to wipe out the lights one of these days.

Most LFS carry them. My favorite is the stubby handle. You can apply a little more pressure when cleaning.

I think this scraper will work on the bowfront if you scrape from side to side instead of up/down, as long as ou are careful at the seams.

I agree with Pelagic, this scarper works excellent on glass tanks. Much quicker and easier than a razor blade.
