ID(s) Please?
Well we picked up some live rock last night from a local reefer that was breaking down his tank and this morning (in the daylight) I've found a few things that I'd like ID confirmations on.
Crab ... Gorilla Crab or good Crab?
Attachment 36594
Anenome Photo #1 .... Aptasia or Curly Cue or something else?
Attachment 36595
Anenome Photo#2 ... these ones have green bands on the tenticles (same question as for #1)
Attachment 36596
Final question .... any volunteers that are willing to come over and help pick bubble algae off a few rocks??
TIA,
Louise

Aiptasia for the last 2 picks for sure. Get a peppermint shrimp or inject them to kill them.

Some of these "patches" of BA are as big as the end of a soda can and sunk into crevaces too. I think it might be easier/ wiser if I just take a chisel to the rock and dispose of that piece. (you can see a portion of 1 patch in the Crab photo)

What I have done in the past that worked for was;
Fill two buckets with salt water.
Remove the BA in one with a brush, toothpic, screwdriver, jackhammer, what ever you need. Rinse in bucket one then two.

Hmmm.... jackhammer may be the appropriate tool! And,.... does it need to be saltwater? Seems like a waste of good saltwater.
Do you think if I did a freshwater dip (cold or hot) of the rock with the crab in it, that it would bring the crab out? He's gone into hiding deeper in the rock.

For bubble algae I have used an acidic injection to kill it that way you get the spores with the bubble.

Thanks everyone. We are still working on getting the little guy to pose for a better pic. Have not trapped him yet because we have a new fella to worry about. Found the crab the guy we got the rock from warned us about. He's as big as the palm of my wifes hand. And he is hairy. Also camoflaged to the colors of the rock he is in. He rode all the way home dry and never came out but last night, She found him. I think it's a Gorilla but I am no expert. I'll get her to post the best pic she has been able to get and see what you all think.

Ok, so here's the big ugly dude/dudette that I found while looking at the tank with a flashlight. ( Sorry for picture quality but camera wouldn't focus well in the dark.)
Side view as it was starting to peep out of the hole.

then as it was partially out of the hole

If we can catch him... anyone want him?
