The Georgia Aquarium is really great. Even though they have had some problems with animals dying recently, it is still something to experience if you can.
I am hoping the Sea Dragon's offspring will fair nicely in the setup and everything will turn out fine for them. Like you said, they are a very interesting and beautiful creature.

I went a yr ago . It was wall to wall people , push and shove . I did get to see both of the hump back whale before the died , wouldn't do it again to many people . I would however recommend the shed aquarium . I would say way better than the Atlanta aquarium. Japan is suppose to be building the biggest aquarium to date. I hope that you enjoy your trip Kimberfish . Its ok if you haven't done it . I also heard that they have drop the max capacity at the Atlanta aquarium so it should be a little less congested .

RealFishy, did you go during the week or on a weekend? I am trying to plan a trip to go up there and wondering what day might be best to go. Weekday or weekend. I would think Weekday but with school out, not so sure.

I would hope the big rush to go see the aquarium has died down a bit from when they first opened. I enjoyed the Tennessee aquarium so much I know I would love Atlanta. Thanks for the pics, it looks cool!

I have also been to the Tennessee Aquarium, in fact it was 2 days after going to the Georgia Aquarium. If you liked Tennessee you will love Georgia. I would also hope the crowd issue has dissipated some since they first opened. I went shortly after they first opened and it was very busy, but you could still move around and see everything.
My only complaint was that they put the playground thing near the front entrance and, of course, my son who was 4 at the time wanted to go run around on that all day and did not understand why we would not let him play on there with 200 other kids when we couldn't see the entire play area.

I just received an email message from Georgia Aquarium and it contained a link to a short video clip of the male Weedy Sea Dragon carrying the eggs on its tail.
Here is a link for those who are interested: http://www.georgiaaquarium.org/explo...ampaign=june08

Michael, the sea dragon is what has me wanting to go. I didn't make it the last time I was in Alabama (Its a 90 min drive to ATL), but planning another trip in July or August and want to go see it.
Maybe I can get an "equipment room" pass and look at the skimmers

They actually have a behind the scenes tour that shows you all of the equipment. Another really cool thing besides the ginormous skimmers is the wave maker, or I guess the proper term would be surge, system. If you are willing to pay the extra money they will let you see all of the cool toys.
