Hydor Koralia powerheads
Has anyone tried the Hydor Koralia pumps? If so, what are your thoughts?
I got a deal I couldn't pass up on a koralia 4 1200gph pump. I will use it to supplement my seios. It seems to be a nice pump if not a little large. But at only 12watts, it uses less energy and puts out equal flow to some seios.

I have a friend who bought one,.. then immediatally picked up 2 more,.. He's been using them a few months now and is quite happy with them. They look like a quality product.
Edit: Oops,. didn't realize this was a club fourm,.. the "New posts" button gets you sometimes.

I really like the magnetic mount for them. I'm thinking about 2 of the 600 gph's.

I just wish they were smaller but great output per watt and flow pattern. I took mine out because of the size.

The 4 I have is pretty big, but the flow sure does help the tank.

I have 2 #4's, in my 75 gallon. I am gonig to be getting 2 more, for my new tank that I am upgrading too. The low cost on this unit is what got my attention, the flow is what has me wanting another 2.
It would be nice to have them on a controller or something, but I am sure they are working on that too.

I took my out for the same reason, and yes for what they are; they are awsome powerheads.
Will add, the magnetic mount is very nice even takes care or mounting it in a brute can.

They produce great flow at a great price. Their size is the only drawback. I wouldn't recommend them for a small tank, but in a larger tank (75 and up) they rock!

We have them on 3 tanks in the store and on a 125 at home, all 4's. We are very pleased with them.

I wouldn't...they are designed with big openings and when they are not running a fish might get into it...next start up they would destory the fish...maybe find a wavemaker unit that wont make then stop running completely on a wave cycle
