In the last few weeks I have noticed this mushroom like growth on one of my corals. But I'm not exactly sure that it is a mushroom, because it has these polyps that extend out around the central mouth. Hairy mushroom maybe? I just can't tell yet, it is so small. check out the pics.

What type of coral is it growing on? A bubble or a LPS of some sort?

It almost looks like a baby bubble coral or meat coral (with feeder tentacles out) to me when I enlarge it 400%. LOL

Have you looked at it an hour or two after the lights go out? Does it look any different then (out more or out less)?

It's growing on a fox coral. During the photo period it is expanded w/ polyps. At night it shrinks up, its so small I can't tell if the polyps are still extended. It kind of looks and behaves like my scolymia.
