I'm thinking about getting a Harlequin Shrimp, does anyone know how hard they are to keep?

I think that they require chocolate chip starfish to feed on, but I'm probably wrong. You may want to hold out untill more info comes buy.

No, you're right Lemonheadmech, they need live sea stars for food. They don't have to be chocholate chips but they do need to be live. Beautiful shrimp but too much of a pain to maintain.

they need large live stars to feed upon & they need to be in groups, harlequins do not do well alone

keep them as a pair... they will need one live starfish about every couple of weeks or so. Any starfish would do pretty much but the cheapest and most common would indeed be the choclate-chip starfish. A buddy of mine has one and I think they are pretty awesome... I would buy a pair myself for the new tank that I'm starting but I don't want to worry about hunting down and buying live starfish every couple of weeks.

They will eat frozen and dried stars. So you can buy stars in bulk and freeze them.
