Halloween Hermit

Hey i have a red stripped Halloween hermit. I know they are not 100% reef safe but what are they a threat to? Will it try to eat my Blood Shrimp? Or start munching on Xenia or attach its self to a fish exchanging DNA and a alien fish/hermit (fermit?) will burst out the fishes chest or what?

These guys say he's reef safe.

They are as reef safe as any other hermit or other type of crab is. All crabs are opportunistic feeders that are harmless most of the time. When an emerald crab (generally known as a reef safe algae eater) in my tank starting tearing apart my red blasto's to get the mysis I just fed it, the words reef safe did not cross my mind. No, he wasn't eating the blasto's but he sure didn't mind ripping the mouths open to get something else to eat. My display tank is currently crabless and may stay that way permanately. I prefer snails anyway and try to get as many different ones as I can.

I have one of those, four of the electric orange (also sold as halloween hermits) and four electric blue hermits in my 34g. They don't mess with my fire shrimp at all. As a matter of fact, they haven't messed with any snails either. I do have a few shells in the bottom for them to use if they want to switch theirs though.
