DIY Tunze Stream Mounting Bracket

This is for you Tunze Stream owners out there. I always found the mounting hardware a PIA to mount on a glass aquarium with the plastic trim around the top. I was forced to mount the pump on my overflow until I made this bracket out of some scrap acrylic that I had lying around. It is just 3 small pieces of scrap glued together in a U-shape and one side has a slot cut into it for mounting the hardware that came with the pump. Now I can easily mount the pump anywhere.

I saw a post that used magnets but I like your idea even better. Easier to make.

Yeah the magnets are nice but $$$. I was going to get some last year and at the time almost everyone had them on back order. The bracket was a cheap and fast alternative. You would think that for the amount that the Tunze Streams cost that they would come up with some better mounting options.

They are gigantic pumps but you can't beat the flow they produce on such low electricity consumption.

I've been thinking about trying one sometime but haven't taken the time yet to complete the 40+ page thread on how to do it. It would make a good presentation at a meeting though.

I made one and it is really easy. MJ1200 with 2 props. Put it in a 48" tank and water overflowed the other side. I took one prop out and it was great.

I am currently trying to put a defuser on one so it I can go back to the 2 prop.s

Works great on a timer.

I would be happy to show the club how it is made at a future meeting.
