DIY Rock.....Anyone try it?

I was just wondering if anyone locally has tried making their own "Rock"?

Here is a good thread on RC I've been following. They seem to be getting good results.

I've made about 250lbs. or so and you can't tell which is which in the tanks. And its fun to make. Cost is about $20 to make about a 100lbs.

What was in your mix besides the protland cement? Sand? Shells? Salt? Noodles? Do you have any tank pictures showing the DIY rock and natural rock together? I imagine once it purples up it would be hard to tell the difference.

In my gallery I have a few tank shots there's about 300lbs in the tank and 200lbs are home made. I'll get some close-up shots tonight. I used crushed oyster shell from the feed store and alittle sea floor sand and mixed 5 parts mix to 1 part cement.

Ok the Rock making class is on for the Sept. meeting. For those of you that want to participate please let me know so I can have enough supplies
for all.You will need to bring your own playtex gloves for handling the mix we will supply the rest so think about the rock shape you would like to make. And I will get some pix tonight of some of the rock.

Cool......This should be a good one to explain to my wife when she sees me putting rock in the toilet tank to cure. Is Atlantis willing to hold them for the intial set for say 24-48 hrs?
