Coral Beauty

I have a 55g Reef with a mix of LPS and softies. Am I able to introduce a coral beauty or not? I have read mixed thoughts on this as far as whether or not they are reef safe.

Any thoughts?

I've had mine for about 2 years and I've never once had a problem with her . She picks at the algea on the back of the tank but has never picked at any of my corals , at least not that I've ever seen .

coral beautys can be reef compatable yes.... tho i have never kept one I know most people buy them due to thier relatively small size and they look good aswell. But one thing you should note is what other tankmates he will have... best to research the fish.

Look at it this way with introducing this fish to a reef aquarium your limiting your chances on keeping inverts, macroalgea's (if housed in show tank&not a fuge), and small types of tankmates.

I have a flame angel and it dosen't bother any of my corals except my clam every once and while. My feeling is reef CAUTION like everything should be considered.

I agree with Steve... REEF CAUTION. I had a Coral Beauty in my 75g with softies and LPS and 98% of the time she never bothered any of the corals. She did nip at the colt coral for about 2 weeks but that was more my fault than her's as I was busy with other aspects of life at the time and didn't get feeding the tank as often as she was use too.

We have a Flame Angel in another 75g and I've never seen it nip at corals or clams. It's been a model citizen.

I have however heard stories of other people that have had nothing but problems with both angelfish.
