Clown fish blues
Getting a bit of Reefnecks bad luck.
I lost my clowns today after only 4 days. I bought 2 of the false percs on Monday, along with 2 cleaner shrimp, and today they were belly up. Last night swimming and eating happily, and today _________.
I was told these clowns were tank raised, and there shouldn't be any problems. Since there was nothing else in the tank to pick on them I just don't get it. Unless the cleaner shrimp have become killers!
That's another $40 down the crapper!
Man do I miss the days of $6 clowns!

That sucks man! I am still clownless. Going to stay that way for about another 3 weeks (in my tank at least) to make sure whatever it was is gone. I get to see them at the store and it kills me not to bring some home but it would kill them if I did so I wait.

That's just it, there were no marks, no faded colors, no slime, nothing. Eating good last night, dead this morning.
I really doubt it has anything to do with the cleaners. Unless they cleaned them to death!

I'm ready, unless you think it would be unsafe to buy another pair so soon.

What about something lurking in your tank at night? But you said no marks of any kind, right?

No marks of any kind. Nothing lurking that I know of. The fish weren't even partially eaten. Just too weird. I have a chromis coming out of qt today, so we'll see what happens.

I'm having an issue with a Clownfish right this minute. In the process of preparing a hospital tank. Yesterday, he was just fine. Eating very well and looking good. Today, he's very listless, hanging out at the bottom like he's dead, the he gets this burst of energy and swims around, then falls to the bottom again. Right now he looks normal, but I am still quite concerned about him. I think he may have developed Brooklynella. I've noticed this slight white haze behind his fins on the left side of his body. The large female is doing just fine. They are both tank raised black ocellaris.

seems there is alot of people around here lately getting this problem, we went through about 6 false percs. We aren't going to put anything in the 24g for at least 6 weeks other than the immune to everything firefish that is still in there.

I chickened out and put the chromis in the 72 just in case. I'm going to let the corner tank sit fishless for another week or so.
