Good. However, if you have too many then it indicates a dirty tank IMO.

Yep, like Mike said, they are fine. If you have too many than you have too many nutrients....kinda like the small feather dusters. If you watch your import/export ratios they will level themselves off into balance.

But simply put, they are fine....But watch out for them when your hands are in the tank.....takes a while to pull out all the spurs when you accidentally grab one !

Do they keep detritus down? Are they good scavengers?

If you have live rock already in the tank, I would imagine you already have them...If you do add some it won't hurt anything anyways but, unless you have all DIY rock or Base rock, chances are you have some.

Small ones are ok, but the huge ones will go after stuff- in my opinion- I say that because alot of people say they are great-harmless- however I have seen otherwise, especially if you have small seahorses or small slower fish like mandarins. Carrie

I think it's FlyGuy on here that had a ridiculously huge one in his tank....thing was something like 12-14" long. That worm was scary looking and I'm sure it could eat a slow animal.

Try looking for that picture if you want to see a crazy big bristle.

Personally I wouldn't add any. With the possibility of importing them in on LR or corals you may purchase down the road...... JMO
