Anthias & Angels

What do you guys think of the Asfur Angel being in a reef tank ? And have any of you heard of Pictillis Anthias & Flavoguttatus Anthias ? The later is supossed to be rarely seen and collected.

We have seen both in person. The Flavoguttatus is a smaller anthia & we recently put 3 in the new reef tank at Bio-Reef. So far they are very shy but eating and are slowly starting to come out more.
We recently had a male with 2 females Pictillis in the store, very pretty fish & pretty easy to get to eat....sold quickly
The Asfur is a nice angel but I would be worried about putting a large angel in a reef tank, but I have heard of it being done. Depends on what you like more your corals or angels In one of my reef tanks it is turning out that I like my angels more
So now I have to ask what kind of tank are you setting up????

I had a group of Pictillis back in December. I started with 1 male and 4 females. I lost 1 female that wouldn't eat but the rest were doing good and eating well. Unfortunately, a drop in temp due to heater malfunction wiped them out along with most of the fish in my frag tank. I was holding them there in preparation for my new tank which has ended up taking much longer than planned. I took some blurry pics that really don't do them justice. The male has great coloration.

Overstock much? J/K The Asfur in the 750 at Atlantis used to love to eat sea mat as a treat. It would destroy them to the last polyp. They all have different attitudes, but it is a gamble to say the least.

I got a chance to see some of Robert and Kelli's new additions when I stopped in last weekend. They are stunningly awesome to see. I really didn't want to walk away from the tank. I could have stood there for hours!
