Need info on Copepod culturing

I'm interested in setting up a copepod culture...Bought some dt Phytoplankton from my lfs...my tank currently does have pods and amphipods...was wondering what is the best way to start a culture from my dt(display tank) u have no sump or Refugium. I have a clump or Maiden's Hair that has some amphipods in it )I see them in it from time to time when cleaning)

I am not sure about that. What would you do to keep the water from going stagnant in there? Do you have enough room to setup a small tank like a 5 or 10 gallon? You could basically run that with a little power filter and a plant growing light on it, as a stand alone refugium. When you want to feed the display tank you could just swish some of the macro algae around in there. I think that would greatly increase your chances of creating a pod farm.

Umm...was thinking about running a masion jar culture...w/ a air pump for circulatiion...or might buy a 10g from my lfs...for $10.000 but thought the masion jar would be more simple.

You know, there is really nothing to lose be trying the mason jar deal first. If it works out that would be great and others could follow what you did. If it doesn't then you can try the bigger setup.

Best of luck with your experiment. It sounds like it could be very interesting and fun at the same time.
