I think my fish are doing it. :P

I have 2 tank raised false percula. Most folks know them as Nemo and Emo....

After a few months in the tank one fish laid the smack down on the other one. The one who dished out the punishment got a bit bigger. The little one has seizures when she comes around so I think they are a pair. Here is what is going on.

Little fish is cleaning the sand in a little liverock cave. Basically making sure the sand is all nice and white in the cave. He does this even when the lights are out.

He pretty much eats the left over food in the tank that the female passes on.

The female is pretty much at the top of the tank now in a dark corner and only comes out to attack the other one. (Just nips)

Anybody think this is a pair and they are getting ready? I am not prepared to raise these things so do I just let nature tak its course or remove the eggs if she lays some?

I think they are doing the standard clownfish thing becoming a pair. But it sounds like yours are already a pair.

I was watching them last night and man the female is laying the smack down on the male. She had him pretty much pinned in the corner all day. Every time he got close he would do his little seizure thing and she would leave him be.

They still have not taken to anything but she likes the mushrooms that I have that are on a piece of flat rock. The male seems to nip at things on the rock and has been hovering around it doing little circle checks.

I am in no way ready for little ones but I find it really cool that they seem to be hitting it off. This pic is from another thread but this is the the area they look like they are claiming.

Mine do the same thing! they haven't laid eggs yet either. my female is about a year and a half old, and the male is maybe a year. I think they need to be older to lay eggs.
