Question

Clownfish Breeding

Does anyone know how to speed the procces of mating. Is there something I can do to make them mate. I have two pairs. The pairs were swiched( I swiched the males around). One pair is in a 72 and the other is in a 10. Should they be in a tank by themselves. The 10 has a damsel in it. The 72 has a maroon clown in it. I think that causes alot of stress. Please let me know your opinions.

I have three breeding pairs, all in 20 gallon tanks solo, no tank mates.
you need to feed them a healthy and varied diet, I run my tank temps at 80 degrees. 12 hours per day of lighting. they've been spawning every two weeks like clockwork. how old are the pairs? what are you feeding?
I've never tried breeding with tank mates so I couldn't really say on that.

I also think they need to be alone.

alone helps, darkness helps, and anenomes help... so you can only have 2 of the 3.

Mine dont have an anenome, I do feed them three times a day, most days. mine spawn on flower pots, occasionally a tile, and every once in a while on the glass of the tank. depending on what clowns your trying I would say the 10 gal is too small. although I have GSM's breeding in a 20 gallon tank. I would say that diet is no. 1 and leaving them alone, no changes to the pairs and tank also. Making any changes can shut them down for months. Good luck.
