breeding clowns

I bought two perculas, they're a little over an inch and 1/4, at what age/size do they usually decide what sex they're going to be?

And what do you need to do to set up breeding them?

I recently bought this book and am half way thought it. It seems be an excellent source for this type of information...

http://www.amazon.com/Clownfishes-Jo.../dp/1890087041

From what I've read so far, they will decide in the first few months who is going to win the prize of being the female - then they'll eventually begin sharing a nighttime area together... I haven't gotten to the part yet that tells me what age they start spawning! But I would really recommend the book - it's great! She gives all the detailed information on what you need to breed them...

If you are wanting to try to breed your percs you should try to buy the clownfishes book by joyce wilkerson (the on kimsie linked above). I have read min several times & refer to it constantly. The age/size part depends on the fish. Some of the forums I have read say 18-24 months old but it depends on the fish.

Hmmm...I wonder if I bought my clowns too late. They may not be able to change sex anymore.
