Bemo is and i'm sitting back and watching the fun. So far no eggs but he is also setting up for the rotifer hatching and baby tanks. He has a different book than the one that most people are using. you may PM him for info. it is very detailed.

I have 2 gold band maroons about 1/4 inch long in with my juvenille seahorses. Theyre all I could save from my first time. Now I pissed off the clowns and they are laying on the back of a huge rock in the reef. I can't catch anymore fry for now.

Yes. I breed clowns....currently three species Clarkiis...Ocellaris...and GSMs.

You are welcome to contact me if you are in need of any clowns for yourself, or a reef club order.

I am working on other species as we speak...so we shall see..

Best,
Ilham

What's the trick to getting them to breed? I put a pair of Ocellaris together and they did nothing. They hung out together and were inseparable but that's about it. Maybe put some Barry White on the stereo?

I think size matters with breeding clowns. I had a pair for 5 years in a 72 gallon. They never spawned. I gave them to a guy who put them in a 400 gallon tank and they spawned within weeks.

That may be some of it, We do have a 75 that hdas 4 percs and they spawn all the time, They did it on live rock. but now we have them doing it on alate, we are pulling the slate out the day we think they will hatch. They have been in the 75 gallon for 4 years.

I could use help keeping my clown fry alive!

Hi, I recently bred some clownfish. My tank is small compared to everyone else's. Not sure about size, but it's only about 36W" * 18H" and maybe 16" deep. Actually, I didn't really "breed" the clowns... it was more like they did everything and I didn't even know about it until the fry hatched...
Please see my post ("how do i keep clownfish fry alive.") It's the only other thread under this section.

What do the clown fish eggs look like does anyone have a picture of this? I have a pair of false percs that I bought 4 years ago and think they have just laid eggs in my 72. They are fanning over these yellow masses on a rock they've dug a hole out of next to their anemonie, and haven't seen these before. If these are eggs, do I take the rock out and isolate so they have a chance for survival or what? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

depends on the clown. you can tell the health of the fish by the color of the eggs. percula eggs should be red.

for now you could try feeding them ready made rots, then after a few weeks feed baby brine.
good luck,
if you are serious about keeping them alive, try out the book "clownfishes" by Joyce d. Wilkerson, someone on here reccomended it to someone, i bought it, i loved every second of it.

I also have a small tank 37 gal and my False percs have laid eggs for the second time.
First batch, a month ago, wa on a big rock with a BTA anemone on it, and didnt want to take it out and missed my shot.
They turned silver ( mature ) and disipeared by morning.
This time they are on a brantch rock w/ star polyps I can take out.
I need to set up my old 20L Like in "ClownFishes". ( I need to re-read)
Correct me if im wrong, I think the gist is tank w/ just an air stone under the eggs w/ super carfull water and small changes. I think you need to keep this up till they are through the larval stage.
