Where can I get Seahorses?
Well we have decided that our 28gal is going to be a seahorse tank. We are going to keep the few fish "two clowns, goby and blenny" in it and add corals. I have started searching for seahorses and can't find any at a reasonable price. We are wanting to find to of the same sex. Please let me know if you know of a place to find some.

I would check with an LFS and see if they have a supplier that can get you tank bred seahorses. I have na LFS that is 2 hours away that gets them in from time to time and we are on his calling list for just in case so we get notified everythime he has some new ones come in.
On August 2nd he had a sale on them and we picked up 2 juvenile Kelloggi's for $40 each.
Best of luck in your search.

Call Jolly's Reef. I was in there yesterday and they have seahorses in the frag tank. Not sure how many (I only saw one but wasn't looking for more).

You can try www.seahorsesource.com as they are captive breeders and are also located in Florida.

Your tankmates are not seahorse compatible and being a 28g tank with 4 fish, your already fully stocked IMO.
This article might help picking out tankmates.

My 2 cents with horses is do a lot of reading and planning before you jump in. Wonderful creatures to care for, but they are different than all other reef tanks.

I had them in the past so know what I would be getting into! I did the feeding and such while my ex-husband did the tank cleanings etc. I would just like to eventually own again once I find some and can also establish another tank to fit there needs.

ORA sells some nice T/R seahorses, I know you can get your local PETCO to special order them for you if they are on the available list. Also many LFS order from ORA, just ask them.

Oceans, Reefs and Aquariums is the ORA acronym.
Have you checked with Jolly's Reef about her seahorses?

I am almost positive that the one I can get is the Brazilian Seahorse (H. reidi)

I second the opinion on seahorsesource.com
They are a highly reputable breeder.
You might want to do a search on ORA horses - some have had success- others have had issues.
I would caution going through your LFS unless they know what horses need and have a separate tank for them.
Stores often mix wild and tank raised - so the tank raised are no longer a benefit as they have been exposed to all the ickies that wild or captive breed carry.
How will you be keeping your temp at 74 or lower in your tank...
I am always looking for ideas.

Amy,
I would be getting a chiller most likely when I do this. It won't be anytime soon as I hoped I still have to come up with another tank seeing as how the fish I have not are not compatiable and I want to keep them!
