Now my last question on this subject would be. What is the best species to have for a starter pair? I have heard bunces about the H. Erectus but is that the easiest to start with? I can't remember what we had way back when.

ahh yes... pricey piece of equipment is it not! I will be getting it as my first piece on the next pony build - that's a way off for me.

Are you wanting to raise babies?

I have heard H Erectus and H reidi are about equal and both great starter horses.

Erectus are easier to raise babies - reidi are one of the harder babies to raise.

Thanks Amy! The info did help some. Not sure about the baby thing yet. I guess if I ended up with a pair then babies it would be. Yes the chiller is expensive that is one reason I didn't buy with this current tank. When I do the ponies though I am going to have one and like you will most likely be the first buy.

I have always wanted a seahorse, but they seem hard to keep, I will have to check out some more forums!
