thinkin' about...

a 10gallon sea horse tank for the nano build off....
can I put 2 h. reidi in a regular 10 gallon tank or is that just mean?
I was thinking of making it a zoo and shroom/ ric tank with the 2 horses and macro algea.

is there any type of sea horse I can keep in a reg 10?
thanks

it would be better to do dwarfs in the 10g. if you get a tall 20g then you could do the others.

I agree on the 10 not being a good tank, You can also do a 15 gallon Tall

I was pretty sure you guys would say that, but figured it wouldn't hurt to ask. I have three empty 10's laying around just waiting for an idea... I have read the dwarfs are hard to feed... need to grow live food for them is that true?

ya, they need live baby brine shrimp, and are hard to keep with corals.

sounds like a great setup... i would do a lagoonal system with soft coral and seaweeds with the horses.

bought it last night YEAH!

THIS is EXACTLY what I want to do with the tank! I want to have rics adn some zoos and maybe something like a finger leather if it's safe for the horses to hitch too and the seaweed for them also.

What types of light would you run with a system like this?
I have pc's on my 55 reef. So I am sorta familliar with those. I would really like to be able to grow the rics adn give them the best color they can. Everything I have read seems to be split between pc's and haldies... can you give them too much light? I think it will be flordia rics. OOOO I am so excited, but it's gonna be a long time out

PC's or VHO's will do fine. try and get 4-5 watts per gallon. the finger leather will be great for hitching. if you do PC then i would get a blue-blue bulb and a blue whit one. it will bring out the color in the coral and it simulates deeper water which i have found the horses to appreciate.

looking good so far, just don't remove too much crap or you won't be able to keep seaweed in there. it likes dirtier water.
