tank temps and summer for horses

for those of you with out chillers

how do you keep your tank temps down in the summer?
What horses are you keeping/ have you kept?
and what temp do you run your tanks at?

I keep hearing 72-74 to keep vibro down, but with out a chiller or my ac on all the time I am not sure how to accomplish this.....

Fans in the canopies and stands help a lot. Keep some frozen 2 liters for emergencies. I finally bit the bullet and bought a chiller though.

I keep H. Riedi and try to keep the temp down with fans. But they do get up to 80 at times and I have never had any problems. I like to work at 78 at max and lower the rest of the time, I think some of ther other horses need to be keep cooler and won't fair well at higher temps

Here in Florida you have to run your air most of the time. I keep the house temp at 74-76 and I blow fans across the tanks. They stay at 72-74. I also keep bottles of water frozen at all time in case of a power failure. I have erectus.
