Tank Rigging

Is there anyone who knows what or actually how to rig the 2gal tanks or 5gal tanks safely so I could get a few dwarfs to raise? I had them in the past so know what I am getting in to. Please let me know if you have any ideas as I want to have them agbain and have heard they can be kept in here however I need to figure out how to make the tank safe.

Sounds small but ask Vinny (VWD) he's the expert on horses!

For dwarfs you just want to cover the filter intakes with floss so the dwarfs and fry can't get stuck. Treating the tank with panacur will kill anything that will harm the dwarfs hitchiker wise (it also kills the chance of ever keeping any inverts with that rock). Provide hitches, feed freshly hatched food daily, siphon out left overs.

Make sure to cover the heater so if a dwarf hitches to it, the seahorse won't get burned.

If your running no filter an open airline can provide the aeration.

Small tanks do need to have a closer eye kept on water quaility. Some macro algae might help a bit, but you just have to monitor the tank.

Floss? What type of floss? I have heard of the panacur trick before and know all about that and inverts from research. I know how to do the set up as in hitches and things plus feeding from past raising. I guess I am asking can I just use a normal filter that would come with a 2.5-5gal tank or is there something special I have to use to do this? Monitoring is not an issue for me. Like I said I have seen this done before and hears of people using the small tanks for a desk and things but just not sure how exactly to change it over for salt safety with the filter.

There is no way of knowing what filter a tank will come with from this end of the keyboard Some are safe some are not.

By floss I mean filter floss pads. It's white on one side, blue on the other usually. I've always just heard it refered to as filter floss, but there might be a real name for it.
