Setups for fry

http://forum.seahorse.org/index.php?showtopic=21838
Heres a link to some great setups for rearing fry and juvies.
Hope this helps. Many can also be used with clown fry after the first week.

Tom , Yes They have some very good idea on the set ups , I have been using a few and am working on the one with a old sysle fish bowl in a larger tank . I want to have a refugium in the tank and the fry in the bowl and a constant but very slow water going out of the bowl and new green water from the refugium going in. I think I have it worked out and all that I need. I have been growing macro algae like mad around here. I have tanks set up just to keep a large amount around. I will take pictures of the tank and bowl when I have it running with water flow the way I want it to.

Good luck with that. I would love to see pics. I have tried the fishbowl in a larger tank and don't like it. But I think my problem was I used the mesh from an old brine shrimpnet. It turned out to be too fine and kept getting plugged with the rotifers and brine. This caused the bowl to overflow. Fortunately it would be so slow that it never swept away fry.

if your really into it you may want to look at www.florida-aqua-farms.com they have some setups to help you grow brine and rotifers(which are better than brine). they have culture kits and they also sell hatchery setups but if you look at them you can probably build one yourself with PVC.

The one thing that I don't like about the FAF brine hatchers, is that they don't keep the water warm. I have found that if you keep the water over 80deg then they hatch faster. I have an acrylic box that I put dividers in and now it can hold 6 2 litre bottles. I fill it 1/2 way up and add a heater. Now the bottles are heated by the water around them and I get a better hatch rate and faster.I also decapsulate enough eggs for about 1 week and keep them in the fridge.
