When looking at tank mates you want to be sure they won't compete for food. I have been advised that at least the baggai cardinal is an agressive eater and not a great choice for a horse tank... other docile slow movers are good canidates for roomies.

Funny thing is, aggressive is such a relitive term. I had to move my bangiia cardinals from the main tank because they were too docile and not getting enough to eat.
Wow HC can cause problems with horses? I'd never would have thought such tiny little things could cause any harm. Ok, then that begs the next question, how do seahorse get along with peppermint shrimp?
And now again H.erectus shouldn't be mixed with others, what about with pipefish as they are similar.
