Whats on my live rock

Hi all

I am a new member so hello to you all.

I have kept marine before but recently started up a new tank.I bought about 12kg of live rock so far and i am worried about these little tiny things crawling about my rock. They are mostly transparent but a couple of them are a light green colour.Should i be worried about this.Any help is greatly appreciatted.

Thanks

Stephen.

Hi, Welcome to TRT.

Pictures would really help. Take a look at this link and see if you can ID them....
http://www.xtalworld.com/Aquarium/hitchfaq.htm

I would guess "pods" of some sort.

Thanks for your reply.

I think i'll struggle to get pics of these guys they are about 3mm in lengh and 1mm wide.I looked at that link and the closest to them i can see is the AMPHIPODS or maybe MYSID SHRIMP.Do you think it would be ok to just leave them be?

Thanks again

Stephen

Welcome to TRT!!!

Amphipods and copepods are a good thing to have and a good source of food for fish that like to hunt.
